About us

After finishing his studies at TU Darmstadt and an exchange study in the Netherlands, Peter Zirkel has been working as an independent architect in Dresden since 1994. During this time, he had been majorly interested in buildings of the first garden city in Dresden - Hellerau. His office has done the renovation of a departmental store by Richard Riemerschmidt (built in 1909). He has also participated in two competitions at the Hellerau Festival Hall (Heinrich Tessenow, 1911 - 3rd prize) and realized a small family house in the Kleinhausviertel `Am Sonnenhang’ in 2002.

After working as an assistant at the office for residential buildings at the TU Dresden, his office has been working on various public projects for around 15 years now. Notably, he has been awarded the Architecture Prize by Architectural Association of Saxony Anhalt and the German Design Award for the project Mediathek in Halle / Saale (in collaborations with Zila, Leipzig).
